Awarding the Contract
Once the contract has been awarded, commissioners need to:

Ensure timely payment to the provider.

Be available should any issues concerning the programme arise. Preferably set up a general oral health email address rather than a personal email address to provide permanence in case of staff changes.

Ensure appropriate governance and performance monitoring processes are in place, covering:

Organisation of the supervised toothbrushing programme.

Monitoring to include accurate records of activities as described above and appropriate use of personal data in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

Ensuring changes to policies including infection prevention and control are reviewed and kept up-to-date.

Appropriate safeguarding policies are followed.
